Vous connaissez ma passion pour l’artisanat, et je voulais refilmer un doreur en action (souvenez-vous<\/a>), mais Mathias c’est diff\u00e9rent. Comme beaucoup, je suis son travail<\/a> depuis longtemps, je l’adore son travail.<\/p>\n

il r\u00e9pond rapidement \u00e0 ma proposition pour venir le filmer. “super, viens au\u00a0caf\u00e9 de la Poste” et l\u00e0 “tiens \u00e7a tombe bien que tu me contactes, on fait bient\u00f4t une installation au Palais de Tokyo, \u00e7a te dit?! -… oui?!”<\/p>\n

M\u00eame s’il a fini par avouer qu’il aimait l’or d’amour (NAN MAIS ON ME LA FAIT PAS \u00c0 MOI!), ce qui l’int\u00e9resse, c’est cr\u00e9er. j’ai ador\u00e9 qu’il compare le langage de la dorure \u00e0 celui de la politesse, une donne, un acquis pour lui, mais pas forc\u00e9ment une source d’inspiration. J’ai ador\u00e9 aussi qu’il ne soit\u00a0pas dans le jeu pur du d\u00e9tournement et de la citation, qu’il ne se positionne pas comme un artiste “\u00e0 la” Duchamp. il cr\u00e9\u00e9e… et puis c’est tout!<\/p>\n

J’ai grand h\u00e2te de d\u00e9couvrir les autres installations et comprendre peut \u00eatre mieux la schizophr\u00e9nie entre l’artiste et l’artisan, un sujet qui me passionne. je crois que ce va et vient entre cr\u00e9er l’avenir et restaurer le pass\u00e9, est divin, qu’il renforce l’un et l’autre. les deux faces d’une m\u00eame pi\u00e8ce. une immense pi\u00e8ce qui incarnerait le cerveau et l’esprit esth\u00e8te et joueur de Mathias.<\/p>\n

L’exposition\u00a0“Double Je, Artisan d’Art et Artiste<\/a>” aura donc lieu au Palais de Tokyo du 24\/3 au 15\/5. Allons-y nombreux!<\/p>\n

You know about my passion for craftsmanship but, here, with Mathias is different! Initially I wanted to film a gilder in action (Remember<\/a>) but Mathias was not interested. Then he added, “Well it’s good that you are calling now because I have made an installation that is opening soon at the Palais de Tokyo. Interested ?! – Err… duh!?!”<\/p>\n

Although he finally confessed to me that he loved gold like crazy (YOU CAN\u2019T HIDE THESE THINGS FROM ME!), what interests him the most is the process of creating. I love how he compares the language of gilding to the one of politeness, like a given thing, a must for him, but not necessarily a source of inspiration.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t wait to see the other installations and understand better the schizophrenia between the artist and the artisan, a subject that fascinates me. I personally believe it\u2019s a movement that goes back and forth between creating the future and restoring the past. Something divine. That strengthens both. It\u2019s the two sides of the same coin. A huge room that would embody the brain and the mind of the aesthete and the player that Mathias is, side by side.<\/p>\n

The exhibition “Double Je, Artisan d’Art et Artiste” (Double I, Artisan and Artist)<\/a> is taking place at the Palais de Tokyo from March 23rd<\/sup> to May 15th<\/sup>. See you there!<\/p>\n
